A polyisocyanate-baser polymer having dispersed therein a metal salt, obtained by reacting an organic polyisocyanate with an aqueous composition of a metal salt. The polymer comprises the metal salt in an amount of from at least 10 weight percent based on total weight of the dry salt with the weight of the polyisocyanate-based polymer including salt therein. The polymer on calcication provides a metal-containing powder having an average particle size of 1 micrometer or less. Such metal-containing powders are of value in the preparation of industrial catalysts, ceramics, electronic components, or as fillers in plastics, paints or cosmetics.
L'invention a trait à un polymère à base de polyisocyanate dans lequel se trouve dispersé un sel métallique, ce polymère étant obtenu par la réaction d'un polyisociynate organique et d'une composition aqueuse de sel métallique. La quantité de sel métallique que renferme ce polymère s'élève à au moins 10 % en poids de la valeur pondérale totale du sel sec, le volume de sel renfermé ayant été compris dans le calcul du poids du polymère à base de polyisocyanate. Une fois calciné, ce polymère donne une poudre contenant du métal dont la dimension moyenne des particules est égale ou inférieure à 1 micromètre. De telles poudres se révèlent des plus utiles pour préparer des catalyseurs industriels, des céramiques et des composants électroniques, ou en tant que matière de charge pour la production de plastiques, de peintures ou de cosmétiques.
