The present invention is based on the identification of a novel G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) that is expressed predominantly in the brain and nucleic acid molecules that encoded the GPCR, referred to herein as the flh2882 protein and flh2882 gene respectively. Based on this identification, the present invention provides: (1) isolated flh2882 protein; (2) isolated nucleic acid molecules that encode an flh2882 protein; (3) antibodies that selectively bind to the flh2882 protein; (4) methods of isolating allelic variants of the flh2882 protein and gene; (5) methods of identifying cells and tissues that express the flh2882 protein/gene; (6) methods of identifying agents and cellular compounds that bind to the flh2882 protein; (7) methods of identifying agents that modulate the expression of the flh2882 gene; and (8) methods of modulating the activity of the flh2882 protein in a cell or organism.

Cette invention concerne l'identification d'un nouveau récepteur couplé à la protéine G (GPCR) qui s'exprime de manière prédominante dans le cerveau et dans les molécules d'acide nucléique codant pour le récepteur GPCR, et désignés ici par protéine flh2882 et gène flh2882 respectivement. Selon cette identification, la présente invention concerne les points suivants: 1) protéine flh2882 isolée; 2) molécules d'acide nucléique isolées qui codent pour la protéine flh2882; 3) des anticorps qui se lient sélectivement à la protéine flh2882; 4) méthodes appropriées pour isoler les gènes allèlomorphiques de la protéine flh2882 et du gène; 5) méthodes pour identifier des cellules et des tissus qui expriment la protéine/le gène flh2882; 6) méthodes pour identifier des agents et des composés cellulaires qui se lient à la protéine flh2882; 7) méthodes pour identifier des agents qui modulent l'expression du gène flh2882; et 8) méthodes pour moduler l'activité de la protéine flh2882 dans un cellule ou un organisme.
