Chiral ligands and transition metal complexes based on such chiral ligands useful in asymmetric catalysis are dis-closed. The chiral ligands include chiral C1-C6 TunaPhos ligands. The ruthenium TunaPhos complex reduces ketones to the corre-sponding alcohols with 95-99.6 % enantioselectivity. The transition metal complexes of the chiral ligands are useful in asymmetric reactions such as asymmetric hydrogenation, hydride transfer, hydrosilylation, hydroboration, hydrovinylation, hydroformylation, hydrocarboxylation, isomerization, allylic alkylation, cyclopropanation, Diels- Alder reaction, Heck reaction, isomerization, Aldol reaction, Michael addition and epoxidation reactions.

L'invention concerne des ligands chiraux et des complexes de métaux de transition à base desdits ligands chiraux utiles dans une réaction de catalyse asymétrique. Les ligands chiraux comprennent des ligands de TunaPhos C1C6. Le complexe de TunaPhos-ruthénium réduit des cétones en alcool correspondant avec une énantiosélectivité de 95-99 %. Les complexes de métaux de transition des ligands chiraux sont utiles dans des réactions asymétriques telles que hydrogénation asymétrique, transfert hybride, hydrosilylation, e hydroboration, hydrovinylation, hydroformylation, hydrocarboxylation, isomérisation, alkylation allycique, cyclopropanation, réaction de Diels-Alder, réaction de Heck, une réaction d'aldol, addition de Michael, et réactions d'époxydation.
