A system and methods for facilitation of group messaging between mobile device users is disclosed. A server connects directly or indirectly to a plurality of wireless network carriers and sends and receives messages by means of a common shortcode. Methods are disclosed that allow users to create groups, invite new users and join existing groups. The system enables users to send a single message to many group members at once by means of a single, common point of access.
