The present invention relates to a physical gas sensor of thermal type and, more particularly, to a sensor capable of determining the concentrations of a gas mixture even in the presence of humidity by measuring the thermal diffusivity and conductivity. This sensor comprises a cell with thermal conductivity (10) whose frequency response to the gases is known, in particular in respect of humidity, delivering a signal Vm representative of the concentration of the gas (G). This cell is excited by a pulsed signal so that a processing can be carried out at different analysis frequencies: at low frequency (20, 40) and at higher frequency (30, 50). The output signals (X1 and X2) from the two processing chains are combined in the circuit (60) so as to provide the levels of concentration of the gas (G) and the concentration of the water vapour. The signals obtained may also be re-combined together with components of the signal Vm of various passbands. Such a sensor may be used for determining H2, CO2 or CH4 in the air in the presence of humidity.
La présente invention concerne un capteur de gaz physique de type thermique et, plus particulièrement, un capteur capable de déterminer les concentrations d'un mélange de gaz même en présence d'humidité par mesure de la diffusivité et conductivité thermique. Ce capteur comporte une cellule à conductivité thermique (10) dont la réponse en fréquence aux gaz est connue,en particulier pour l humidité, délivrant un signal Vm représentatif de la concentration du gaz (G). Cette cellule est excitée par un signal pulsé de sorte qu'un traitement peut être effectué àdes fréquences d analyse différentes: àbasse fréquence (20, 40) et à plus haute fréquence (30, 50). Les signaux de sortie (X1 et X2) des deux chaînes de traitement sont combinés dans le circuit (60) pour fournir les niveaux de concentration du gaz (G) et celle de la vapeur d'eau.Les signaux obtenus peuvent également être re-combinés entre eux avec des composantes du signal Vm de différentes bandes passantes. Un tel capteur peut être utilisé pour la détermination de H2, CO2ou CH4 dans l'air en présence d'humidité.
