Disclosed is a stainless steel which is suitable for separators of solid polymer fuel cells. Metal ions hardly dissolve out of this stainless steel even when it is exposed to a high-humidity acidic atmosphere in a cell, and the stainless steel maintains low surface contact resistance for a long time. Specifically, the stainless steel contains C: 0.020 mass% or less, Si: 0.50 mass% or less, Mn: 0.50 mass% or less, P: 0.020-0.080 mass%, S: 0.005 mass% or less, Ni: 0.50 mass% or less, Cr: 28-32 mass%, Mo: 1.5-2.5 mass%, Cu: 0.80 mass% or less, Nb: 0.03-0.25 mass%, Ti: 0.03-0.25 mass%, Al: 0.04-0.20 mass%, N: 0.020 mass% or less, and if necessary V: 0.2-1.0 mass%, satisfying C + N <= 0.025 mass% and Ni + Cu <= 0.80 mass%.

Il est prévu de l'acier inoxydable adapté aux séparateurs de piles à combustible de polymère solide. Les ions métalliques se dissolvent à peine dans cet acier inoxydable, même lorsqu'ils sont exposés à l'atmosphère acide très humide d'une pile, et l'acier inoxydable maintient une résistance de contact de surface basse pendant longtemps. Plus précisément, l'acier inoxydable contient C : 0,020 % masse ou moins, Si : 0,50 % masse ou moins, Mn : 0,50 % masse ou moins, P : 0,020 à 0.080 % masse, S : 0,005 % masse ou moins, Ni : 0,50 % masse ou moins, Cr : 28 à 32 % masse, Mo : 1,5 à 2,5 % masse, Cu : 0,80 % masse ou moins, Nb : 0,03 à 0,25 % masse, Ti : 0,03 à 0,25 % masse, Al : 0,04 à 0,20 % masse, N : 0,020 % masse ou moins, et si nécessaire V : 0,2 à 1,0 % masse, respectant C + N <= 0,025 % masse et Ni + Cu <= 0,80 % masse.
