A computer-implemented method of scanning a document (e.g. a newspaper or a book) where the text may be legally protected from unauthorized copying, comprising the steps of: acquiring to a memory at least one recording confined to a field that covers a delimited area of a document; processing the at least one recording to perform character recognition; when a character is recognized, registering it in a memory, and performing the above steps repeatedly while recording at shifted positions so as to progressively obtain a string of characters; and evaluating the string against a predefined condition; if condition is not satisfied, determining whether to clear from the memory at least a portion of the at least one recording; if condition is satisfied, provide an output and clear from the memory at least a portion of the string and at least a portion of the at least one recording.
L'invention concerne un procédé implémenté par informatique de balayage d'un document (par exemple un journal ou un livre), dans lequel le texte peut être protégé légalement contre une copie non autorisée, comprenant les étapes consistant à: acquérir une mémoire d'au moins un enregistrement confiné à un champ qui couvre une zone délimitée d'un document; traiter ledit enregistrement pour réaliser la reconnaissance des caractères; lorsqu'un caractère est reconnu, enregistrer ce dernier dans une mémoire, et répéter les étapes susmentionnées par enregistrement décalé, de manière à obtenir une chaîne de caractères; évaluer ladite chaîne par rapport à une condition prédéfinie; lorsque la condition n'est pas satisfaite, déterminer si au moins une partie de l'enregistrement doit être effacée de la mémoire; et si la condition est satisfaite, délivrer le résultat en sortie et effacer au moins une partie de la chaîne de caractères de la mémoire et au moins une partie de l'enregistrement.
