Apparatus for communicating a positive fluid pressure to patient's nasal passageways including a mask engaging the area surrounding such patient's nasal passageways, sealing the mask, for delivering breathable gas to patient's air passageways. The mask is manufactured from a composite material with a relatively soft plastic inner layer and a cloth outer layer. The device has an exhaust valve including a plurality of apertures through the composite material. The apparatus includes a retaining means of at least one strap.

L'invention concerne un appareil servant à communiquer une pression fluidique positive aux voies nasales d'un patient, comprenant la mise en place d'un masque englobant le pourtour des voies nasales, la fermeture étanche du masque en vue d'administrer un gaz respirable vers les voies aériennes du patient. Le masque est fabriqué dans un matériau composite comportant une couche interne en plastique souple et une couche externe en tissu. Le dispositif présente une soupape d'échappement dotée d'une pluralité d'orifices ménagés dans le matériau composite. L'appareil comprend également des moyens de fixation notamment au moins une sangle.
