A forward facing child restraint system with attached harness providing superior safety performance for a child during a vehicle forward impact event. The restraint system includes a seating portion (112) and child harness (170) secured to the frame (130) with a seatbelt pathway threaded through the frame for fully securing the frame in the vehicle seat using a vehicle lap belt. The child restraint system may be implemented in one or two physical embodiments: a tubular truss frame with attached seating panel or as a car seat shell having an integral frame and seating section.

L'invention porte sur un système de retenue pour enfant orienté vers l'avant et doté d'un harnais de sécurité conférant une plus grande sécurité à un enfant en cas de choc avant du véhicule. Le système de retenue comporte une partie siège (112) et un harnais (170) pour enfant fixé au cadre (130), la voie de passage de la ceinture de sécurité étant ménagée dans le cadre afin de fixer complètement le cadre dans le siège du véhicule au moyen d'une ceinture sous-abdominale. Le système de retenue pour enfant peut être installé de deux façons : au moyen d'une armature tubulaire dotée d'un panneau de siège fixe ou comme une coque de siège de voiture dotée d'un cadre intégral et d'une section d'assise.
