The invention relates to a process for the fabrication of a polymeric optical microstructure, being supported or not by a substrate, starting from a thermoplastic polymer, wherein a thermoplastic polymer is blended with an UV curable resin and a thermally stable photo-initiator, to obtain a blend having a lower viscosity than the viscosity of said polymer, said blend being molded and the molded blend being cured by means of UV radiation to obtain a polymeric optical microstructure. Such a process prevents the common problems, which arise with molding of conventional thermoplastic polymers and conventional UV curing when only one of the components of the blend is used.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication, à partir d'un polymère thermoplastique, d'une microstructure optique polymère éventuellement portée par un substrat, selon lequel un polymère thermoplastique est mélangé à une résine réticulable par UV et à un photo-initiateur thermostable de manière à obtenir un mélange présentant une viscosité inférieure à celle dudit polymère, ledit mélange étant moulé et le mélange moulé étant réticulé par exposition à un rayonnement ultraviolet de manière à obtenir une microstructure optique polymère. Ce procédé permet d'éviter les problèmes habituels survenant lors du moulage des polymères thermoplastiques traditionnels et de la réticulation traditionnelle par UV lorsque l'on n'utilise qu'un seul des constituants du mélange.
