ABSTRACT A compound of general formula (II) Image (II) or an acid addition salt thereof, wherein X1 is halogen; m is 0, 1 or 2; Y is an alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, halo, nitro, aryloxy, haloaryloxy, cyano or alkoxycarbonyl moiety; n is 0, 1 or 2; and Z is an alkyl, alkoxy or halo moiety. These compounds are useful intermediaces in the preparation of related pyridyliminomethylbenzene derivatives which are fungacides.
