1090-10 A METHOD OF PRODUCING, FILLING AND SEALING BAGS ABSTRACT A method of producing bags from a tubular film of thermoplastic synthetic resin, preferably including side folds, is described. The method includes the step of forming a closed end, and then severing the closed portion from the web to provide an open-ended bag (which can then be filled and sealed by conventional methods). In making the closed end, two parallel spaced apart transverse welds are formed, in sequence, using the same welding tool. This provides a bag with an integrated gripper or handle. A hole, or holes, may be incorporated in the space between the parallel welds.
