Disclosed are polyaddition products containing hydroxyl groups and uretdione groups, and essentially comprising A) from 55 to 85% by weight of a uretdione, and at least one of: B) from 2 to 15% by weight of a polyol with 3 hydroxyl groups, C) from 5.5 to 31% by weight of a diol, D) from 7.5 to 33% by weight of a chain extender with a functionality of 2 to 6, provided that when the polyol B is not contained, the chain extender D with a functionality of 3 must be contained, wherein the polyisocyanates carry terminal hydroxyl groups and have a functionality of 3, a molecular weight between 1,500 and 4,400 and a free isocyanate content of less than 0.5% by weight. The polyaddition products are useful as, components of polyurethane powder coating compositions.
