A stage frame assembly is provided herein comprising pre-built rigid structural members each of which has elongate strength elements held spaced apart by shorter brace elements. Quickly attachable and removable regis- tration pins are used to assemble the structural members together and to extend the structure in different horizon- tal directions to create a stage floor as a two dimensional development. This minimizes the erection and dismantling time and avoids the provision of screw-threaded jacks previously used to hold stage floor members in horizontal positions. Vertical structural members extend higher than the stage floor to carry a roof. This roof is conveniently built from other structural members on the stage floor and raised into an upper position by winches carried by the vertical members. A method of assembly is also described, together with a kit of parts used to make the assembly.
