Ethylbenzene is recovered from a mixture of C8 aromatic hydrocarbons including xylenes by adsorptive separation in a narrow temperature range of 100 to 125°C using a cesium exchanged X zeolite having a silica:alumina ratio from 2.0:1 to 2.3:1 as the adsorbent. A mixture of diethylbenzene and toluene is the preferred desorbent.
