ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved stand for vertically supporting and providing water for posts and trees, including Christmas trees, which in one embodiment has a stable watertight bowl with mouth facing upwards, slots radially arranged around its mouth, clasps which are appropriate to fit into the slots, and gripping projections inside its bottom. When a tree or post is inserted and held vertical, the clasps are inserted and bent against the surface of the tree or post and grip it with serrations. Stabilizing legs can be attached to the bowl; the bowl can be filled with water for a tree. Removal simply involves pulling the post or tree upwards.
