The present invention relates to a secure optical communication scheme. The differential delay D in an unbalanced Mach-Zehender interferometer results in two copies of the optical source signal at a remote phase modulator separated in time by D. As D is much bigger than the coherence time source, the two copies of the signal are effectively uncorrelated both signals are phase- modulated by the remote sender~s data and returned to the unbalanced interferometer. The phase modulator will be converted into amplitude modulation by the auction of the interferometer.

L'invention concerne un schéma de communication optique sécurisée. Le retard différentiel D dans un interféromètre Mach-Zehender asymétrique a pour résultat deux copies du signal source optique au niveau d'un modulateur de phase éloigné séparé dans le temps par D. D étant nettement supérieur à la source temps de cohérence, les deux copies du signal sont effectivement non corrélées, les deux signaux sont modulés en phase par les données d'expéditeur et renvoyés à l'interféromètre asymétrique. Le modulateur de phase est converti en modulation d'amplitude par l'action de l'interféromètre.
