Methods and systems for electrical sensing, measurement and characterization of display elements are described. An embodiment includes integrating the electrical sensing, measurement and characterization with the display drive scheme. This embodiment allows for measurement of DC or operational hysteresis voltages and/or response times of interferometric modulator MEMS devices, for example, to be fully integrated with the display driver IC and/or the display drive scheme. Another embodiment allows these measurements to be performed and used without resulting in display artifacts visible to a human user. Another embodiment allows the measurement circuitry to be integrated with the display driver IC and/or the display drive scheme re-using several existing circuitry components and features, thus allowing for integration of the measurement method and its use relatively easily.
La présente invention concerne des procédés et systèmes pour détecter, mesurer ou caractériser électriquement des éléments d'afficheur. Un mode de réalisation consiste à intégrer la logique de pilotage d'afficheur aux fonctions de détection électrique, de mesure et de caractérisation. Ce mode de réalisation permet de mesurer les tensions de courant continu ou les tensions d'hystérésis opérationnelle et/ou les temps de réponse de dispositifs MEMS des modulateurs interférométriques, par exemple, auxquels on veut intégrer totalement le circuit intégré du pilote d'afficheur et/ou la logique de pilotage de l'afficheur. Un autre mode de réalisation permet d'effectuer et d'utiliser ces mesures sans provoquer d'artéfacts d'affichage visibles par un utilisateur humain. Un autre mode de réalisation permet d'intégrer au circuit de mesure le circuit du pilote d'afficheur et/ou une autre logique de pilotage d'afficheur réutilisant plusieurs fonctions et composants de circuits existants, et donc de permettre une intégration et une utilisation relativement faciles du procédé de mesure.
