The side air bag directional guide system is provided for intensifying the forces applied to a seam in a vehicle seat (16) for allowing the air bag (30) to be deployed through an opening in the seam (28). The air bag directional guide system includes a vehicle seat (16) including a seat back (18) having a seat cover (22). An air bag unit is mounted inside of the seat cover and a membrane (26) is wrapped around the air bag unit and has first and second ends connected to a seam (28) in the seat cover. Upon deployment of the air bag, the membrane intensifies the forces applied to the seam thereby tearing open the seam (28) to provide an opening through which the air bag (30) is deployed.

Système de guidage directionnel pour airbag latéral, destiné à amplifier les forces appliquées sur une couture d'un siège (16) de véhicule, qui permet à l'airbag (30) de se déployer par une ouverture dans la couture (28). Ledit système comporte un siège (16) de véhicule comportant un dossier (18) de siège doté d'une housse (22). Une unité airbag est montée à l'intérieur de la housse et une membrane (26) enveloppe ladite unité airbag et possède des première et seconde extrémités reliées à une couture (28) se trouvant dans la housse de siège. Lorsque l'airbag se déploie, la membrane amplifie les forces appliquées sur la couture, ce qui provoque ainsi, par déchirure de la couture (28), une ouverture par laquelle l'airbag (30) peut se déployer.
