The gauging system for measurement of ground shafts during grinding has a gauge unit mounted on a slide and cylinder assembly for forward/reverse travel between a home position and an operating position. The gauge unit has spaced-apart finger probes extending therefrom with opposing distal tips biased towards each other, the gauge unit thus providing a signal indicating a distance between the distal tips. In the home position the tips are positioned on a gauge master, and in the operating position they are positioned on the shaft being ground. The gauge master is used to zero or calibrate the gauge during each machine cycle. The grinding is stopped when the desired shaft diameter is reached, as indicated by a signal from the gauge unit. Roundness and accuracy are then verified at a lower rpm.
Système de mesure des arbres rectifiés pendant leur rectification. Il possède un dispositif de mesure monté sur un ensemble comportant une glissière et un vérin pour aller et venir entre une position de repos et une position de fonctionnement. Le dispositif de mesure possède des sondes de contact espacées qui le prolongent et des pointes distales opposées inclinées les unes vers les autres; le dispositif de mesure fournit ainsi un signal indiquant la distance entre les pointes distales. En position de repos, les pointes sont placées sur un calibre-étalon, et en position de fonctionnement, elles sont placées sur l'arbre à rectifier. Le calibre-étalon sert à remettre à zéro ou à étalonner le dispositif de mesure au cours de chaque cycle de rectification. La rectification est arrêtée lorsque le diamètre voulu de l'arbre est obtenu, comme l'indique un signal provenant du dispositif de mesure. La circularité et l'exactitude sont alors vérifiées à une vitesse de rotation moins élevée.
