A water saving device (18) for use with domestic hot water systems of the noncirculating storage tank heater type uses a hydraulic motor do drive a water pump (48) to pump water from the hot water pipe (21) to a cold water pipe (22). Pumping begins when a hot water tap connected to the device (18) is turned on and the water in the hot water pipe (21) is cold. Pumping continues until a temperature sensing element (70) senses the hot water has reached the water saving device (18) and actuates a valve (65). When hot water is present at the device (18), the valve (65) permits the hot water to pass directly to the tap instead of driving the hydraulic motor (47).
Dispositif permettant d'économiser l'eau (18) utilisable dans les systèmes d'eau chaude sanitaire du type à corps de chauffe situé dans un réservoir d'eau non circulaire. Ledit dispositf est équipé d'un moteur hydraulique actionnant une pompe à eau (48) pour pomper l'eau de la conduite d'eau chaude (21) vers une conduite d'eau froide (22). Le pompage commence lorsqu'un robinet d'eau chaurelié au dispositif (18) est ouvert et que l'eau contenue dans la conduite d'eau chaude (21) est froide. Le pompage se poursuit jusqu'à ce qu'un élément de détection (70) détecte le fait que l'eau chaude arrive au dispositif d'économie d'eau (18) et actionne une soupape (65). Lorsque de l'eau chaude se trouve dans le dispositif (18), la soupape (65) permet le passage direct de cette eau chaude vers la prise d'eau, sans actionnement du moteur hydraulique (47).
