A method and device for detecting the presence of mixed venous and arterial blood pulsation in tissue, including receiving first and second electromagnetic radiation signals from a blood perfused tissue portion corresponding to infrared and red wavelengths of light, obtaining a measure of a phase difference between the first and second electromagnetic radiation signals, comparing the measure with a threshold value to form a comparison, and detecting the presence or absence of venous pulsation using the comparison.
La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un dispositif permettant de détecter la présence d'une pulsation du sang mixte, veineuse et artérielle, dans un tissu. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à recevoir des premier et second signaux de rayonnement électromagnétique d'une partie du tissu sous perfusion sanguine, lesdits signaux correspondant aux longueurs d'onde infrarouge et rouge de la lumière, à obtenir une mesure de la différence de phase entre les premier et second signaux de rayonnement électromagnétique, à comparer la mesure avec une valeur seuil afin d'établir une comparaison, et à détecter la présence ou l'absence d'une pulsation veineuse à l'aide de la comparaison.
