Disclosed is an aromatic polycarbonate having a weight-average molecular weight of 8,000 to 150,000 and having chain ends blocked with chain terminator radicals, 0.5 to 50 mol % of which has the formula: Image (in which A is a polymeric aliphatic radical having a number- average molecular weight of 250 to 30,000), and a process for the preparation of the polycarbonate using as a part of terminator, one of formula (I): Image (I) (wherein A is as mentioned above and B is OH or Cl). Further disclosed is a mixture of the polycarbonate with polyiso- butylene.
