ABSTRACT The present invention is a timer apparatus for mounting on a curling broom shaft. The timer apparatus has the following constituent components: a time interval measuring device, a display unit for displaying times measured by the measuring device and that is mounted on the shaft near the shaft's sweeping head, a power supply, a speaker for emitting a sound after a preset time has elapsed, a user input device for controlling the measuring device and that is mounted on the shaft near a hand of a user holding the broom for sweeping, and electrical connectors for connecting the measuring device to the other constituent elements . The display unit and input device are mounted on the curling broom shaft so that a curler sweeping an ice surface with the curling broom may simultaneously observe the data displayed on the display unit and the ice surface being swept and operate the input device.
