ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A signal generating system and an electronic organ utilizing a beam tube wherein a PWM (pulse width modulation) representation of a wave shape desired to be reproduced is stored in a memory. An oscillator activated by means such as a manual or pedal key produces frequency f, where f is the frequency of the note selected. This oscillator causes electronic emissions to sweep the pattern of the PMW representation at the fundamental frequency se- lected. The PMW wave shape is read out repetitiously at the generated frequency and converted to an analog form by a low pass filter to produce a tonal quality having the wave shape corresponding to the wave shape stored in the memory.
