The invention relates to an engine (1) having at least one displacer cylinder (6) in which a liquid (15), in particular an ionic liquid, is arranged and which can be connected to a feed passage (10) and a discharge passage (11) for medium, wherein the liquid (15) is operatively connected to a displacer device (17). To solve the problem of providing an engine which has a high displacement capacity while requiring little construction space, it is proposed according to the invention that the displacer cylinder (6) be arranged in a cylindrical drum (5), rotatably mounted about an axis (4) of rotation, at an angle to the axis (4) of rotation of the cylindrical drum (5). According to a preferred configuration of the invention, the displacer cylinder (6) is arranged perpendicularly to the axis (4) of rotation of the cylindrical drum (5), and the displacer cylinder (6) is designed as a radial bore (14) arranged in the cylindrical drum (5).

L'invention concerne un groupe propulseur (1) comportant au moins une cylindre de refoulement (6) contenant un liquide (15), notamment un liquide ionique, pouvant être connecté à un canal d'admission (10) et à un canal d'évacuation (11) de fluides, le liquide (15) se trouvant en communication active avec un dispositif de refoulement (17). L'invention vise à mettre en oeuvre un groupe propulseur présentant un grand pouvoir de refoulement pour un encombrement réduit. A cet effet, le cylindre de refoulement (6) est disposé dans un tambour cylindrique (5) logé de façon à tourner par rapport à un axe de rotation (4), de façon inclinée par rapport à l'axe de rotation (4) du tambour cylindrique (5). Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le cylindre de refoulement (6) est disposé de façon perpendiculaire par rapport à l'axe de rotation (4) du tambour cylindrique (5), et le cylindre de refoulement (6) est conçu en tant qu'alésage radial (14) pratiqué dans le tambour cylindrique (5).
