The present invention relates to a method , system and computer program product for enabling the remote authentification of fingerprints over an insecure network using a client-server architecture by generation of a set of random queries relating to fingerprint patterns based on stored fingerprint data at the server, to which the client responds based on the observed fingerprint patterns, followed by the issuing of a randomly generates set of challenges pertaining to geometrical relationships between the fingerprint patterns for which confirm responses are received by their server, the final authentification being determined by the proportion of correct responses by the client to said challenges.
L'invention se rapporte à un procédé, système et produit de programme informatique permettant l'authentification à distance d'empreintes digitales sur un réseau non sécurisé utilisant une architecture client-serveur faisant appel à la génération d'un ensemble de demandes aléatoires concernant les motifs d'empreintes digitales d'après les données d'empreintes digitales mémorisées au niveau du serveur, demandes auxquelles le client répond conformément aux motifs d'empreintes digitales observés. Ensuite, le procédé fournit un ensemble aléatoire de défis relevant de rapports géométriques entre les motifs d'empreintes digitales pour lesquels le serveur reçoit des réponses de confirmation. L'authentification finale est tributaire de la proportion de réponses correctes apportées par le client auxdits défis.
