Elastomeric polymers including ethylene, alpha-olefin and vinyl norbornene are shown to have improved extrusion characteristics, improved electrical properties, improved cure characteristics compared to ethylene, alpha-olefin, non-conjugated diene elastomeric polymers containing non-conjugated dienes other than vinyl norbornene. The elastomeric polymers containing vinyl norbornene generally have a branching index below 0.5. Such elastomeric polymers are combined with up to 30 parts of metallocene catalyzed ethylene, alpha-olefin copolymers to improve physical properties.
L'invention porte sur des polymères élastomères comprenant un éthylène, une alpha-oléfine et un vinyle norbonène et présentant de meilleures caractéristiques d'extrusion, de meilleures propriétés électriques et de meilleures caractéristiques de durcissement par comparaison à un éthylène, une alpha-oléfine, des polymères élastomères renfermant des diènes non conjugués autres que vinyle norbonène. Les polymères élastomères contenant vinyle norbonène ont généralement un indice de ramification inférieur à 0,5. Ces polymères élastomères sont combinés avec près de 30 parties de copolymères d'éthylène, d'alpha-oléfine catalysés par un métallocène afin d'améliorer leurs propriétés physiques.
