A defibrillator system and associated methodology for determining capacity of a battery and/or a number of battery cells contained in a pack. The system measures and stores the battery or battery pack voltage signal data and uses an algorithm to determine the remaining capacity. The algorithm takes into account the operating mode of the device, historical information of the device including, but not limited to, how long it has been since the device has been used, how the device has been used (e.g. shocking mode or idle mode), how many times the device has been used with its installed battery or battery pack, how many charging cycles and/or shocks have been delivered etc. The output from the system is fed back to the user to inform the user when the battery is low, needs to be replaced and/or how many remaining shocks are left the battery.

L'invention concerne un système de défibrillateur et un procédé associé permettant de déterminer la capacité d'une batterie et/ou d'un certain nombre d'éléments de batterie contenus dans un bloc. Le système mesure et stocke les données de signalisation de tension de la batterie ou du bloc-batterie et utilise un algorithme pour déterminer la capacité restante. L'algorithme tient compte du mode d'exploitation du dispositif, des informations historiques du dispositif, y compris, entre autres, la durée d'utilisation du dispositif (par exemple en mode choc ou en mode repos), le nombre de fois que le dispositif a été utilisé avec la batterie ou le bloc-batterie installés, le nombre de cycles de charge et/ou de chocs distribués, etc.. La sortie du système est renvoyée à l'utilisateur pour informer celui-ci lorsque la batterie est faible, doit être remplacée, et/ou du nombre restant de chocs pour la batterie.
