An intramedullary rod for use with a fastener to repair a femur includes an elongate nail extending along a longitu-dinal axis and having a stem and a head. The head is provided with an aperture extending along an axis at an angle to the longitudinal axis for receiving the fastener. A mechanism is carried by the head for pivoting the axis of the aperture from a first angled position relative to the head to a second angled position relative to the head. A method for using the rod and screw is provided.
L'invention concerne une tige intramédullaire destinée à être utilisée avec une pièce de fixation pour réparer un fémur. Ladite tige intramédullaire consiste en un clou allongé qui s'étend le long d'un axe longitudinal et qui possède une tige et une tête. La tête est munie d'une ouverture qui s'étend le long d'un axe en formant un angle par rapport à l'axe longitudinal pour recevoir la pièce de fixation. La tête supporte un mécanisme destiné à faire pivoter l'axe de l'ouverture, à depuis une première position inclinée par rapport à la tête jusqu'à une seconde position inclinée par rapport à la tête. L'invention propose un procédé d'utilisation de la tige et de la vis.
