A side rail assembly (11) including a side rail (12) having two ends, and a fixture (13). The fixture (13) is configured to be fixed at one end of the side rail (12), and defines a central hollow dimensioned to fit snugly around one of the plurality of uprights (17). The fixture (13) further has a socket (21) for receiving one end of the side rail (12), and hinged member (23). The hinged member (23) defines one wall portion of the central hollow. The fixture (13) is slidable around the upright (17) when the hinged member (23) is in the open position (A) and fixture (13) is fixed around the upright member (13) when the hinged member (23) is in a closed position (B). A wedge portion (25) of the hinged member (23) defines a portion of the central hollow. A slot, dimensioned to receive the wedge portion (25) of the hinged member (23) when the hinged member (23) is in the closed position, is also provided on the fixture (13). Lastly, a locking member (31) is provided which is disposed to lock the hinged member (23) in the closed position (B). Preferably, the hinged member (23) defines a wall of the socket (21), so that, when the hinged member (23) is in the open position (A), the end of the side rail (12) is laterally insertable into the socket (21).
L'invention concerne un ensemble de rail latéral comportant deux extrémités et un bâti. Ledit bâti est configuré de manière à être fixé sur une extrémité du rail latéral, et définit une cavité centrale dimensionnée de manière à se loger étroitement autour d'un des montants. Ledit bâti comporte par ailleurs une douille destinée à recevoir une extrémité du rail latéral, ainsi qu'un élément articulé. Ledit élément articulé définit une partie de paroi de la cavité centrale. Ledit bâti peut coulisser autour du montant lorsque l'élément articulé est dans une position ouverte, et ledit bâti est fixé autour du montant lorsque l'élément articulé est dans une position fermée. Une partie de coin de l'élément articulé définit une partie de la cavité centrale. Ledit bâti présente également une fente dimensionnée de manière à recevoir la partie de coin de l'élément articulé lorsque ce dernier est en position fermée. Enfin, un élément de verrouillage est disposé de manière à verrouiller l'élément articulé dans la position fermée. De préférence, la partie articulée définit une paroi de la douille de manière que lorsque ladite partie articulée est en position ouverte, l'extrémité du rail latéral peut être insérée latéralement dans la douille.
