An optical connector apparatus includes first and second fiber terminals, and a terminal connection guide including an alignment section extending from the first fiber terminal and having inner dimensions selected to snugly receive the second fiber terminal therein to precisely align the second fiber terminal with the first fiber terminal. The inner dimensions of the alignment section have a dimensional tolerance on the order of one micron or less, preferably one tenth of one micron. A connector apparatus includes a receptacle including a plurality of terminals of a first type, and a plug including a plurality of terminals of a second type connectable to the terminals of the first type. The receptacle and plug include complementary connection faces configured to permit connection with each other only at a single rotational orientation relative to each other and configured to prevent connection at other relative rotational orientations.
L'invention concerne un appareil connecteur optique qui comprend des premier et second terminaux de fibres et un guide de connexion de terminal qui comprend une section d'alignement s'étendant à partir du premier terminal de fibres et qui possède des dimensions internes sélectionnées de manière à recevoir de façon ajustée le second terminal de fibre en vue d'aligner de façon précise ce second terminal avec le premier. Les dimensions internes de la section d'alignement possèdent une tolérance dimensionnelle de l'ordre d'un micron ou moins, de préférence, d'un dixième de micron. Un appareil connecteur comprend un récipient équipé de plusieurs terminaux d'un premier type, et une prise comprenant plusieurs terminaux d'un second type pouvant être connecté aux terminaux du premier type. Le récipient et la prise comportent des faces de connexion complémentaires configurées de manière à permettre la connexion entre elles uniquement dans une orientation rotationnelle unique les unes par rapport aux autres et configurées de manière à empêcher la connexion à d'autres orientations rotationnelles relatives.
