A real-time transaction processing system includes a leaky bucket and a flow control means, the flow control means monitoring the response time of each real-time transaction and comparing the response time with a predetermined response time and incrementing the contents of the leaky bucket when the response time exceeds the predetermined response time. The real-time transaction processing system may reject transactions in proportion to the contents of the leaky bucket. Further there is a method of operating the real- time transaction processing system by monitoring the response time of each real-time transaction; comparing the response time with a predetermined response time; and incrementing the contents of the leaky bucket when the response time exceeds the predetermined response time.

L'invention concerne un système de traitement de transactions en temps réel comprenant un panier percé et un moyen de régulation de débit qui contrôle le temps de réponse de chaque transaction en temps réel, compare ce temps de réponse avec un temps de réponse prédéterminé et incrémente le contenu du panier percé lorsque ledit temps de réponse dépasse le temps de réponse prédéterminé.
