Abstract Apparatus for deep drawing an open bowl Described is an apparatus for deep drawing a bowl (8b) from a blank (8) of deep-drawable plastics material comprising, movably relative to each other (arrow 20), deep drawing tools (16) and co- operating jaws. In order to increase the machine output and reduce the wastage as far as possible and in order further substantially to facilitate the difficult handling of thermoplastic material webs, it is provided in accordance with the invention that provided as the co-operating jaw is a main suction plate (7b) which is secured to a heatable main carrier (6) and which is intermittently movable together with the main carrier (6) as a forward feed heating jaw in a direction (21) perpendicularly to the direction of movement (20) of the deep drawing tool (16) by means of a lift device, that fixed at a spacing from the lower main suction plate (7b) to the main carrier (6) is at least one further central main suction plate (7a) as a forward feed heating jaw (5) and that arranged beside the deep drawing tool (16) and at a spacing therefrom is an outside heating jaw (14) which is movable intermittently parallel to the direction of movement (20) of the deep drawing tool, in such a way that the outside suction plate (13, 13a) and the main suction plate (7a, 7b) are opposite each other for a period of time.
