Method, system and server for authenticating the originator of a fax transmission is provided. The server is provided between the fax originator and a receiving entity. The server automatically intercepts access request from the originator and implements voice biometric verification before the originator sends a fax document to the receiving entity. The server may allow the fax originator to start a facsimile transaction only when the fax originator obtains positive authentication.
