Disclosed are omega-conopeptide containing medicaments for inhibiting progression of neuropathic pain disorders. The invention also includes an omega-conopeptide formulation that prevents oxidation of the peptide, as well as novel omega-conopeptides SNX-273 and SNX-279. In a related aspect, the invention includes an improved method of epidural administration of omega conopeptides.
