A method and system for maintaining node states across network address changes in a Fibre Channel network [12] includes steps and instructions for maintaining in each of a plurality of nodes, including target [16] and initiator nodes [14], a triplet table [18, 20] including a triplet of data having the network address, node, name, and port name for each of other ones of plurality of nodes with which the particular node communicates. The instructions permit sending from each of the plurality of nodes to the other ones of the nodes with which each of the plurality of nodes communicates the triplet of data following the resumption of communication occurring after a break in communication. The triplet of data identifies the event that the nodes are communicating with the same nodes both before and after said break in communication, the invention further includes instructions for continuing communications among said nodes without performing further recovering steps.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant de maintenir des états de noeud dans les modifications d'adresse de réseau, sur un réseau à canaux de fibres (12). Un certain nombre d'étapes et d'instructions permettent de maintenir dans chacun des noeuds considérés, y compris les noeuds cible (16) et initiateur (14), une table de triplet (18, 20) comprenant un triplet de données qui porte l'adresse de réseau, le nom de noeud, et le nom de port correspondant à chacun des différents autres noeuds avec lesquels le noeud concerné communique. Les instructions permettent d'envoyer depuis chacun des noeuds considérés à chacun des autres noeuds en communication le triplet de données, lorsque la communication reprend après une interruption. Ce triplet permet de vérifier que les noeuds communiquent avec les mêmes noeuds avant et après l'interruption.
