ABSTRACT Windscreen-wiper device for motor vehicles in which the motorized shaft which operates the wiper arm has its axis forming an angle different from 90° with the trace of the essentially final position of the angular wiping field of the arm, in such a manner that the load applied by the elastic element associated with the wiper arm is at a maximum in this final position and at a minimum in the initial extreme position of the wiping field. (Figure 1)
