- 21 - SWATH CONDITIONING MACHINE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A swath conditioning machine comprises a frame, steerable ground wheels mounted on the frame and a hitch by which the frame can be drawn across the ground. A pick-up is mounted on the frame at an angle to a transverse direction of the frame so that as the frame moves forwardly the pick-up engages the crop in swath form at an angle to its longitudinal direction. A draper is positioned behind the pick-up and carries the material rearwardly. An optional mold board and turning assist device is provided at the rear of the draper so that the swath can be inverted if required. A duplex arrangement of two such elements allows two swaths to be deposited side by side for subsequent collection by a single baler.
