Methods are disclosed for hydrocracking processes that convert a significant portion of a heavy hydrocarbon feed-stock such as vacuum gas oil (VGO) to lower molecular weight, lower boiling hydrocarbons. In addition to molecular weight re-duction, the processes also substantially reduce the pour point of a recovered higher boiling fraction or unconverted oil, all or a portion of which may be used as a lube base stock, optionally after one or more further treatment steps such as hydrofinishing. The ability to reduce the pour point, through hydroisomerization, of the higher boiling fraction greatly improves the quality of this fraction, or unconverted oil, for use in lube base stock preparation. Advantageously, separate, conventional hydroisomerization and/or dewaxing steps, often requiring a noble metal catalyst, may be avoided in particular embodiments disclosed herein.
L'invention porte sur des procédés d'hydrocraquage convertissant une partie significative d'un apport d'hydrocarbures lourds tels du VGO (gazole sous vide) en hydrocarbures de poids moléculaire et point d'ébullition moins élevés. En plus de cette réduction du poids moléculaire, lesdits procédés réduisent substantiellement le point d'écoulement d'une fraction récupérée à point d'ébullition élevé ou d'huile non convertie, dont tout ou partie peut servir de graisse de base, éventuellement après une ou plusieurs étapes de traitement supplémentaires telles que l'hydrofinissage. La possibilité d'abaisser le point d'écoulement par hydroisomérisation de la fraction à point d'ébullition le plus haut améliore grandement la qualité de cette fraction ou de l'huile non convertie servant à la préparation de la graisse de base. On peut donc éviter avantageusement les étapes séparées et conventionnelles d'hydroisomérisation et/ou de décirage, qui demandent souvent un catalyseur de métal noble, en particulier en utilisant les exécutions décrites dans la description.
