A fuel cell has an anode, a cathode, and a proton- exchange membrane disposed between the anode and cathode. An exhaust anode gas exhausted from an outlet of the anode is directed back to an inlet of the anode. Hydrogen is added to the exhaust anode gas before the exhaust anode gas reaches the inlet. A method of starting-up the fuel cell is disclosed, including the steps of : -closing a purge valve located at the outlet of the anode line; -activating recirculation in an anode recirculation loop ; -dosing hydrogen so as to eliminate oxygen from the anode line.

L'invention porte sur une pile à combustible qui comprend une anode, une cathode et une membrane échangeuse d'ions disposée entre l'anode et la cathode. Un gaz d'échappement d'anode émis par une sortie de l'anode est redirigé vers une entrée de l'anode. De l'hydrogène est ajouté au gaz d'échappement d'anode avant que ce dernier n'atteigne l'entrée. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de démarrage de la pile à combustible précitée, qui consiste à: fermer une soupape de purge située à la sortie de la ligne d'anode; activer la recirculation dans une boucle de recirculation d'anode; et doser l'hydrogène de manière à éliminer l'oxygène de la ligne d'anode.
