ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE CIRCUIT ARRANGEMENT FOR THE COMPENSATION OF CROSSTALK Line equipment, preferably a line terminating device (LE), in a communications system including transmitting and receiving circuits (S1, S2, SN; E1) to which are connected transmitting lines (SL1, SL2, SLN) and receiving lines (EL1) includes at least one receiving circuit (E1) that is equipped with a circuit arrangement (KS) for compensating crosstalk. A single circuit arrangement (KS) effects the compensation of crosstalk between a plurality of transmitting lines (S1, S2, SN) and a receiving line (EL1). For compensation, a refer- ence signal (R(1)1, R(1)2, R(1)N) of the transmitted signal is branched off from each transmitting circuit (S1, S2, SN) and an adaptive filter (F1, F2, FN) simulates a compensation signal (K1, K2, KN). The individual compensation signals are mixed into the received signals through the subtraction inputs of a subtraction circuit (S). Part of the output signal of the subtraction circuit (S) is fed to the control signal inputs (RS1, RS2, RSN) of the adaptive filters (F1, F2, FN), the other part is processed further to become the received signal (DA1).
