Sampler for self-sampling of samples from a body cavity, such as cervical samples. Optimum accessibility of the cervix is achieved through the fact that the sampler comprises a rigid plastic tube which is rounded at the front side. As a result, during its introduction by the user, the sampler can accurately be moved to the cervix. Moreover, the sampler is surrounded by the vagina and it is possible to prevent leakage of flushing liquid, and consequently it is possible to make do with a relatively small quantity of flushing liquid while at the same time producing a sample with a high concentration of cervical cells. In this way, it is possible to reach the sampling location in a simple and more accurate way which does not damage tissue. As a result of the tube simultaneously being designed as a cylinder for a plunger, it is possible, firstly, to flush the desired location with a solution using a cylinder- plunger assembly obtained in this way and, secondly, to take the sample by drawing the plunger back.

L~invention porte sur un échantillonneur qui permet de prélever soi-même des échantillons d~une cavité corporelle, comme des prélèvements du col de l~utérus par exemple. On obtient une accessibilité optimale dans la mesure où l~échantillonneur comprend un tube de plastique rigide qui est arrondi à l~avant. En conséquence, pendant son introduction par l~utilisatrice, l~échantillonneur peut être guidé avec précision jusqu~au col de l~utérus. De plus, l~échantillonneur est entouré par le vagin et il est possible d'empêcher la fuite de tout liquide sécrété et donc de se contenter d~une quantité relativement faible de liquide sécrété tout en obtenant un prélèvement d~une forte concentration de cellules du col de l~utérus. De cette manière, on peut guider l~échantillonneur jusqu~à un site de préIèvement de façon simple et plus précise sans endommager les tissus corporels. Comme le tube est conçu comme un cylindre pour plongeur, il est d~abord possible de laver le site désiré avec une solution en utilisant un ensemble cylindre/plongeur obtenu ainsi, et ensuite de prélever l~échantillon en tirant sur le plongeur vers l~arrière.
