The present invention is an improved apparatus for capping the end of a pleated filter cartridge. The apparatus comprises a two-section assembly having a first end section (2) with at least an inner flange (22) and a flared second section (24) that nests within the first end section and defines an annular space (26) adapted to receive a pleated filter media (28). The pleated filter media is potted within the annular space to form a tight seal that is not prone to leakage. The filter assembly of the present invention is a distinct improvement over previous filter end cap assemblies, having fewer parts and being easier to manufacture, install, and use.

Un dispositif amélioré est destiné à coiffer l'extrémité d'une cartouche de filtrage plissée. Il comprend un ensemble en deux parties dont l'extrémité d'une première partie (2) comprend au moins une collerette interne (22) et dont la deuxième partie (24), évasée, s'emboîte dans l'extrémité de la première partie et définit un espace annulaire (26) conçu pour recevoir un filtre plissé (28). Ce dernier est de préférence encastré dans cet espace annulaire pour former un joint étanche non sujet aux fuites.
