The invention concerns a ventilator comprising a cylindrical housing (6) the intake (8) of which is connected to a coaxial cylindrical conduit (5) of smaller diameter, an electric motor axially mounted in the housing (6), of small diameter relative to that of the housing, and on the shaft of which is fixed a wheel (13) consisting of blades (14), each having a shape such that all the cross-sections of a blade through planes parallel to the axis of the housing are parallel to said axis and the vanes (19) orienting the air stream, integral with the inner side of the housing (6), distributed at the periphery of the housing and each including at least a curved part (19a) which, located on the side of the housing intake, is housed in an annular space comprised between the housing (6) and the virtual cylindrical surface extending the air intake (8).
Ce ventilateur comprend une virole cylindrique (6) dont l'entrée (8) est raccordée à un conduit cylindrique coaxial (5) et de diamètre inférieur, un moteur électrique monté axialement dans la virole (6), de diamètre faible vis à vis de celui de la virole, et sur l'arbre duquel est fixé une roue (13) composées de pales (14), chacune de forme telle que toutes les coupes d'une pale par des plans parallèles à l'axe de la virole sont parallèles audit axe et des aubes (19) directrices du flux d'air, solidaires de la face intérieure de la virole (6), réparties à la périphérie de la virole et comportant chacune au moins une partie courbe (19a) qui, située du côté de l'entrée de la virole, est logée dans l'espace annulaire compris entre la virole (6) et la surface cylindrique virtuelle prolongeant l'entrée d'air (8).
