O.Z. 4494 Abstract: 1. Device and process for precipitating polymer from polymer-containing solutions, emulsions or suspen- sions. 2.1 For precipitating polymers, steam or hot water has hitherto been used, which was injected into the polymer-containing fluid. By means of the device according to the invention and the process according to the invention, the polymer is completely precipi- tated, effectively freed of monomers and degassed, if the polymer is conveyed in an organic solvent. 2.2 The precipitation device consists of a nozzle plate, in which each outlet orifice for the polymer- containing fluid is associated with a nozzle for at least one precipitant fluid, the axis thereof being essentially perpendicular to the axis of the outlet orifice. The end of the outlet orifice lies approxi- mately in the centre plane of the nozzle for the precipitant fluid. The precipitation step proceeds predominantly in the liquid phase and the precipi- tated polymer is discharged with the liquid phase. The size distribution of the precipitated particles is narrower, and the particles are less compact and contain less solvent than in other precipitation processes. 2.3 Precipitation of - even tacky - polymers from polymer-containing fluids, such as, for example synthetic rubber from an organic polymer solution. 3.
