The invention relates a pharmaceutical composition comprising a combination of (i) the AT 1- receptor blocker valsartan or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and (ii) a COX-2 inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and to a method for the treatment or prevention of a condition or disease selected from the group consisting of hypertension, heart failure such as (acute and chronic) congestive heart failure, left ventricular dysfunction and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, diabetic cardiac myopathy, supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, detrimental vascular remodeling, myocardial infarction and its sequelae, atherosclerosis, angina (whether unstable or stable), renal insufficiency (diabetic and nondiabetic), heart failure, angina pectoris, diabetes, secondary aldosteronism, primary and secondary pulmonary hypertension, renal failure conditions, such as diabetic nephropathy, glomerulonephritis, scleroderma, glomerular sclerosis, proteinuria of primary renal disease, and also renal vascular hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, the management of other vascular disorders, such as migraine, peripheral vascular disease, Raynaud's disease, luminal hyperplasia, cognitive dysfunction (such as Alzheimer's), glaucoma and stroke, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition to a mammal in need thereof.
L'invention concerne une composition pharmaceutique comprenant une combinaison de (i) un bloqueur valsartan du récepteur-1 AT ou d'un de ses sels acceptables sur le plan pharmaceutique et?¿(ii) d'un inhibiteur de COX-2 ou d'un de ses sels acceptables sur le plan pharmaceutique et éventuellement un support acceptable sur le plan pharmaceutique. L'invention concerne également un procédé de traitement ou de prévention d'un trouble ou d'une maladie telle que l'hypertension, l'insuffisance cardiaque telle que (l'insuffisance cardiaque congestive aiguë et chronique), les dysfonctionnements du ventricule gauche et la cardiomyopathie hypertrophique, la myopathie cardiaque diabétique, l'arythmie supraventriculaire et ventriculaire, la fibrillation auriculaire, le flutter auriculaire, le remodelage vasculaire nocif, l'infarctus du myocarde et ses séquelles, l'athérosclérose, l'angine (stable ou instable), l'insuffisance rénale (diabétique et non diabétique), l'angine de poitrine, le diabète, l'aldostéronisme secondaire, l'hypertension pulmonaire primaire et secondaire, les états d'insuffisance rénale tels que la néphropathie diabétique, la glomérulonéphrite, la sclérodermie, la sclérose glomérulaire, la protéinurie de la maladie rénale primaire, ainsi que l'hypertension vasculaire rénale, la rétinopathie diabétique. Le procédé permet également de traiter d'autres troubles vasculaires tels que la migraine, l'acrosyndrome, la maladie de Raynaud, l'hyperplasie luminale, les dysfonctionnements cognitifs (tels que ceux de la maladie d'Alzheimer), le glaucome et l'accident vasculaire cérébral, consistant à administrer une quantité efficace sur le plan thérapeutique de la composition pharmaceutique à un mammifère la nécessitant.
