The optical intersatellite communications system comprises a transmission element with a TX laser on the transmitter end and an optical modulator for transmitting a modulated laser beam (3), wherein this transmitter element respectively comprises one analog and one digital device, which can be selectively connected via a change- over switch on the transmitter end to the optical modulator. The optical intersatellite communications system also comprises a receiving element which has an optical RX receiver (21) on the receiver end and a local oscillator (22), wherein on the output side of the RX receiver (21) a low pass filter unit (23) has been connected, to which an analog or a digital device can be selectively connected via a data signal change-over switch (24) on the receiver end.
