The present invention is directed to the production of fuel with reduced levels of carbon A hydrocarbon stream comprising methane is separated into a first hydrocarbon stream and a second hydrocarbon stream The first hydrocarbon stream is reformed and water-gas shifted to produce a first product gas comprising hydrogen and carbon dioxide The carbon dioxide is removed from the first product gas using an adsorbent The first product gas is combined with the second hydrocarbon stream to produce a second product gas with reduced carbon relative to the hydrocarbon stream.
