The present invention is directed to a method for delivering cytokines to the central nervous system and the lymphatic system by way of a tissue innervated by the trigeminal nerve and/or olfactory nerve. Cytokines include tumor necrosis factors, interleukins, interferons, particularly interferon-.beta. and its muteins such as IFN-.beta.ser17. Such a method of delivery can be useful in the treatment of central nervous system disorders, brain disorders, proliferative, viral, and/or autoimmune disorders such as Sjogren's disorder.
L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à administrer des cytokines aux système nerveux central et système lymphatique par le biais d'un tissu innervé par le nerf trijumeau et/ou le nerf olfactif. Les cytokines englobent notamment des facteurs de nécrose tumorale, des interleukines, des interférons, en particulier l'interféron-.beta. et ses mutéines telles que IFN-.beta.¿SER17?. Un tel procédé d'administration peut être utile dans le traitement de troubles du système nerveux central, de troubles du cerveau, de troubles proliférants, viraux et/ou auto-immunes, par exemple le trouble de Sjogren.
